Lift Operator Supervisor


Job Description

  • Manage and oversee all day to day functions of the lift operations
  • Train lift operations and ticket checking staff
  • Ensure lift operations team
    • operates the lifts safely and efficiently
    • Provide physical assistance to guests as required    Chairlift evacuation
    • Maintain all operational aspects of the assigned lift – ramps, mazes and signs
  • Foster a fun and engaging team environment focused around the customer
  • Provide excellent customer service and create positive memories for the guests


  • Lead lift department beginning of day stand up meeting
  • Lead lift operators in
    • morning pre-operational setup, including snow removal, ramp maintenance and mazes
    • end of day
  • Ensure that all morning pre-operational checks are completed properly
  • Ensure shut-down procedures followed so passengers disembarked & lift ready to operate the following day
  • Ensure compliance with TSSA and Resort rules and regulations
  • Identify problems and rectify them as soon as possible
  • Assist in the maintenance of lift load and unload ramps throughout the day
  • Schedule staff to per budget guidelines
  • Review and approve hours in ADP, and assist in resolving any payroll issues
  • Communicate any variations from the operating schedule to department heads immediately
  • Take charge of communication during a lift down-time situation
  • Ensure proper completion of daily operations logs
  • Inform Lift Mechanics immediately of any operating issues
  • Handle and respond to customer complaints
  • Ensure cleanliness of lift buildings and other work areas
  • Ensure all staff perform all the tasks of a Lift Operator or Ticket Scanner as needed
  • Keep nice and neat appearance, keep uniform clean and have good personal hygiene
  • Perform any task outside the normal job parameters that may be required


Customer Service Expectations

  • Lift Operators have significant direct customer contact
  • The Supervisor ensures that the Lift team is courteous, professional & provides superior customer service
